PM Modi says Uttar Pradesh set to be $1 trillion economy:
PM Narendra Modi has said Uttar Pradesh is set to be a $1 trillion economy, as he launched 81 projects with a total investment of ₹60,000 crore. These projects will generate around 2 lakh jobs in the state, he added. Commending UP's investment policy, PM Modi said he was satisfied at seeing the transformation that has occurred across the state.

Non-filers of income tax returns mooted:
The government is set to bring in a law that would black-list non-filers of income tax returns. Currently the law does not provide for any stringent penalty for non-filers. The current provisions states that non-filers would not be eligible to apply for loans, tenders etc. The move to bring in a new law is aimed at increasing the government's tax.

Rajasthan withdraws order of pay cut for skipping Teachers' Day
The Rajasthan government has withdrawn two of its orders related to its Teachers' Day event at Jaipur, after they were slammed by teachers. The first order said that teachers who do not attend the state-level event will face pay cuts. The second one told teachers not to wear black clothes or shoes, or carry a black handkerchief.
